Longhorn Performance Racing Nears Agreement to Sign Rising Racer Kaeden Ballos for 2027–2028 Program
DALLAS, TEXAS — August 25, 2026 — Longhorn Performance Racing (LPR), the racing division of Longhorn International Motorsports Corporation (LIMC), announced today that it is nearing an agreement to sign Kaeden Ballos for its 2027–2028 driver development program, with a long-term objective of developing Ballos toward an IndyCar opportunity.
Ballos, an 18-year-old fourth-generation racer from Concord, North Carolina, has progressed from karting and Legends competition into Late Models. His résumé includes the 2022 INEX Summer Shootout Championship, multiple Late Model wins and top-10 finishes, and professional driver development through PitFit, simulator work, shop preparation and road-course testing.
The proposed LPR program will be developed in partnership with John Harkrider of Havoc Motorsport and Tom Mockbee, Manager of Kaeden Ballos Motorsport, creating a structured pathway focused on driver development, competition, technical education, physical and mental preparation, sponsorship development and progression toward professional open-wheel racing.
Recent testing has already demonstrated Ballos’ adaptability to road racing. During an F3 test program, Ballos reported improving by more than eight seconds across four sessions and finishing approximately one second from the fastest lap despite having no prior road-course experience.

Ballos’ development philosophy aligns closely with LPR’s long-term vision. His current program emphasizes continuous development, including in-season karting training with professional coaching, simulator work, physical conditioning and technical preparation.
The anticipated 2027–2028 LPR program is expected to establish a multi-year development pathway designed to evaluate Ballos’ progression through increasingly competitive road-course and open-wheel machinery, with IndyCar representing a long-term aspirational target.
