Position Overview
Longhorn International Motorsports Corporation is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Track Operations (Road Circuit) to oversee the planning, execution, and continuous optimization of our world-class road course facility. This role is responsible for ensuring that all track activities meet the highest standards of safety, performance, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence, consistent with FIA Grade-level expectations.
The Director will play a critical leadership role in delivering elite motorsports events, manufacturer testing programs, racing academies, and immersive driving experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership

Oversee all day-to-day operations of the road circuit, including scheduling, staffing, and track readiness

Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all track activities

Coordinate with internal departments (events, safety, marketing, partnerships, and facilities)
Event & Program Management

Plan and execute sanctioned racing events (Formula, sports car, endurance, club racing)

Manage OEM/manufacturer testing, R&D programs, and private track rentals

Support Texas Race Academy programming and driver development initiatives
Safety & Compliance
-
Ensure compliance with FIA, SCCA, IMSA, and other sanctioning body regulations

Oversee track safety systems including runoff areas, barriers, flagging, and emergency response

Coordinate with medical teams, fire/rescue, and incident response personnel

Lead risk management and incident review processes
Facility & Track Maintenance

Maintain track surface integrity, curbing, drainage, and supporting infrastructure

Manage vendor relationships for track maintenance, resurfacing, and equipment
-
Oversee pit lane, paddock, garages, and race control operations
Team Leadership

Hire, train, and manage track staff including marshals, flaggers, and operations crew

Establish performance standards and continuous training programs

Foster a culture of safety, precision, and high performance
Technology & Innovation

Integrate timing/scoring systems, telemetry, and race control technologies

Collaborate on AI, biometrics, and advanced performance tracking initiatives

Support broadcast and streaming needs through GMN Live
Financial & Strategic Oversight

Develop and manage operational budgets

Identify revenue opportunities (track rentals, memberships, OEM programs)

Contribute to long-term strategic planning for track utilization and expansion
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in Motorsports Management, Engineering, Business, or related field (required)

Advanced certifications in motorsports operations or safety (preferred)
Experience
-
7–10+ years in motorsports operations, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role

Direct experience managing road course operations at a professional level

Experience with FIA-grade circuits or equivalent highly preferred

Background in race direction, track management, or event operations strongly desired
Technical Knowledge

Deep understanding of road racing disciplines (Formula, GT, endurance racing)

Knowledge of FIA, IMSA, SCCA, and related regulatory frameworks

Familiarity with track safety systems, race control, and timing/scoring platforms
Leadership & Skills

Proven ability to lead large teams in high-pressure environments

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

Ability to coordinate complex, multi-day events with precision
Additional Requirements

Availability to work weekends, evenings, and event-based schedules

Ability to respond to emergency situations in real-time

Valid driver’s license; motorsports driving experience is a plus
Preferred Qualifications

FIA Race Director, Clerk of the Course, or equivalent certification

Experience working with OEM testing programs and automotive R&D teams

Background in large-scale motorsports facility development or launch

Experience with luxury or high-end customer experiences
