Longhorn International Raceway is part of Longhorn International Motorsports, a world-class motorsports destination that integrates racing, entertainment, community, and lifestyle in the heart of Texas. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Track Operations to oversee the daily management, safety, and performance of our racing facilities.
Responsibilities & Duties
The Director of Track Operations will:
- Oversee day-to-day operations at the Raceway
- Ensure compliance with all sanctioning body regulations (FIA, FIM, SCCA, etc.) and insurance agency.
- Develop and implement safety protocols, track preparation, and work with the EMR Team to develop emergency response procedures.
- Manage event scheduling, logistics, and coordination with promoters and race series partners.
- Supervise track personnel, including operations staff, safety teams, and maintenance crews.
- Oversee facility maintenance, track surface management, and equipment readiness.
- Work closely with hospitality, food & beverage, and community event teams to deliver a seamless guest experience.
- Monitor and manage operational budgets, including staffing, maintenance, and capital improvements.
- Build and maintain relationships with racing organizations, sponsors, and community stakeholders.
- Lead efforts to maximize revenue through track rentals, corporate events, strategice research and development partners, and special programming.
Must-Have Education & Experience
Candidates must demonstrate the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, Facility Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in motorsports operations, event management, or facility management.
- Proven experience managing large-scale racing events and coordinating with sanctioning bodies.
- Strong knowledge of motorsports safety standards, track preparation, and emergency procedures.
- Leadership experience in supervising teams and managing cross-departmental operations.
- Budgeting and financial management experience.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship skills.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with professional motorsports organizations (IMSA, FIA, etc.).
- Technical background in track surface preparation.
- Familiarity with advanced timing & scoring systems.
- CPR, EMT, or safety certifications.
